Day two of the 2014 Blowsion Surf Slam kicked off in much different, more traditional Oregon-like weather as we have witnessed in the past. 60 degree temperatures and a lingering foggy mist gave the competitors a chilly challenge on the water, and a reason for the sea of fans to buy out every sweatshirt from Surf Slam clothing vendors.

Pro Freeride was stacked with an array of the best free riders in the world, competing head-to head in hopes to advance to the main finals. A main qualifier was held followed by an LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier) for those who were unable to claim a win in their first heat ride. The waves were a bit smaller today and conditions were changing minute by minute so riders had to adapt quickly to the conditions. Mitch Young, Bruno Jacob, Daring Anderson, Mark Gomez, Jake Montadon, Gil Beurnier, Zack Bright, Brodie Copp, Tiago Geitens and Mick Anthony would all advance to the semi-finals, with Jake Bright, Taylor Curtis, Randy Lawlor, Tanner Thomas receiving a second chance of redemption in the LCQ to carry on into the semis. Day three will decide who our overall Pro Freeride Surf Slam champ will be as well as overall points champ for the IFWA Freeride World Tour.

Amateur Freeride hosted a variety of extremely talented riders from all around the area with a variety of surf experience. Grayland Open Amateur winner, Dane Dials was joined by Danielle Lawlor, Stuart Allison, Filippo Rossetti, Trevor Allred, Conner Crow, Jeremy Hopper and Michael Ratti in the quarter finals. Following two sets of elimination rounds (quarter and half finals), the final two riders set to compete for the Amateur Freeride win are Filippo Rossetti and Michael Ratti.

In the Pro Motosurf Freeride race, Mark Gomez was able to edge out two 6 lap moto wins on his DASA Racing powered Rickter Edge  free ride ski, pulling his signature barrel roll across the finish line. The race was no easy task for Gomez as he was paired against veteran riders such as Jeff Troegner and other local pro racers.
