The 2015 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season kicks off this weekend in Anaheim CA. The Atlanta round in the Georgia Dome has been the largest capacity crowds each of the last few years and this year will host back to back races on February 21 and February 28.
As always there is a buzz on all social media leading up to A-1. One thing is certain, we will have a new champion in the 450 SX with Ryan Villipoto opting to race moto GP. Also the suspension of James Stewart as of now has bubba out for the entire SX season.
Some people plan to protest James suspension by not attending SX rounds. Most I suspect will change their minds. Those who don’t change their minds aren’t real MX fans IMO.
With Villipoto and James out the title is wide open. Trey Canard and Davi Milsaps both looked like serious contenders at the Monster Energy Cup, and Ryan Dungy will definitely be shooting for a second 450 SX title.
Will Ken Roczen be even faster on the Suzuki? Will Justin Barcia reach his real potential on a blue bike? Can Eli Tomac give Honda it’s first 450 title since the GOAT? So may questions, but one things for sure… It’s gonna be one hell of a show!
The Atlanta round is always a big gathering for Jet Ski racers from all over the east coast, and now with back to back rounds it should be better than ever.
Multi time watercraft champions Dustin Farthing and Ryan Hardwick, owners of what is now 6… count-em 6 Mountain Motorsports locations in Georgia always have events going on during SX week. This year things are no different. You can buy your SX tickets at Mountain Motorsports. Most PWC peeps buy from Mountain which puts the PWC crowd in the same section.
I asked Dustin what are the early plans for 2015?
“Mountain Motorsports is hotter then ever right now and with that we are bringing you a SX autograph party for both weekends. Come by our Marietta location Friday February 20th & Lithia Springs Friday February 27th for pre pit party and Rider Autographs.”
Visit mtn-motorsports.com for more updates as the ATL rounds get closer. More announcements are sure to come. After parties, specials and who know what else Mountain crew will come up with for Atl SX’s. See ya there!
