Gustave Lubin Legendre Jr aka “G.L.” was born and raised in Thibodaux, Louisiana. GL has spent his entire lifetime on or around the water and on boats including piloting commercial vessels in the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean out of Bodega Bay, CA.  GL also has over 14 years’ experience as a Captain on an oilfield vessel.  GL’s many years of experience piloting large commercial vessels has been a force multiplier in augmenting his skills racing PWC’s in the ocean and endurance racing on lakes.

GL started riding PWCs on a 1995 Polaris SLT 780.  Recognizing the rough water handling characteristics of the Kawasaki ULTRA hull, GL made the transition to the Kawasaki ULTRA platform and has never looked back.  This has included GL being a thought leader regarding race modifications of the ULTRA platform.  GL started racing in 2012 with his first formal race being the Mark Hahn 300 Mile Race in Lake Havasu City AZ.  GL and his teammate Juanfa of Uruguay placed 8th overall and 3rd in class. GL expanded into closed course and endurance racing in Region 5 winning the regional title in all 3 classes. He competed in one national tour stop that year in two classes placing first and third. In 2013 GL won the National tour in both classes and then won the National in both classes he competed in.  GL maintained his momentum in 2014 winning all 3 classes he competed in at the national tour. Unfortunately GL experienced a mechanical issue in the second moto at Nationals while in the lead and after winning his first moto ultimately taking him out of contention for the overall championship.

Quite a start in breaking into the top ten at the prestigious Mark Hahn 300 on his first race!

GL is looking forward to competing in the 2015 AquaX Series and other offshore events across the United States.

GL’s professionalism, integrity and passion for all things endurance and offshore racing have differentiated him from the many racers who dawn a helmet and hit the course.  PWCOFFHSORE.COM is proud to call him one of our own.  Please join me in welcoming GL to the PWCOFFSHORE.COM Racing GUNZ Team!  For more information about offshore PWC racing go to www.pwcoffshore.com
