Introducing all-new race-ready GP1800®R SVHO® and GP1800R HO With Agile Handling, Enhanced Acceleration and New Rider ErgonomicsKey Features:All-new deck design with deeper, wider, self-draining footwells, innovative rider ergonomics and muscular performance inspired appearance Enhanced acceleration with better hook up due to new intake grate and upgraded jet pump Lighter feel and more responsive due to center of gravity moving more aft New, adaptable steering system with tilt-adjustable, exposed race design handlebars New, industry first, Auto Trim feature with Cornering Control and Launch Control Increased storage capacity at the bow, glovebox, and under the seat by 15% New multi-mount system for accessory integration New 4.3” Connext® Helm Control with multi-color LCD display Factory installed, custom integrated marine audio system with 4.5” speakers and amplifier (available as option)The supercharged Yamaha GP1800R SVHO and normally-aspirated GP1800R HO are the epitome of today’s high-performance racecraft. Never before in the history of professional personal watercraft racing has one platform dominated closed-course competition in the way the GPs have winning virtually every major world, national and endurance racing title last year. And even when you’re not racing, your heart still is when you throw your leg over Yamaha’s race-proven 1.8L marine engine and ride away on the most technologically-advanced high-performance hull we have ever designed. For 2021, the Yamaha GP Series is virtually all-new with a new deck design, tilt-adjustable race inspired handlebar design, Connext helm control with multi-color LCD display, the industry’s first Auto Trim function with Cornering Control and Launch Control modes, a new hull liner that moves the craft’s center of gravity for added agility, and a new intake grate and upgraded jet pump for class-leading acceleration.New Deck Design with Greater Storage CapacityThe Yamaha GP Series is all-new above the water line. The new deck design delivers improved ergonomics with deeper, wider, self-draining footwells and a new seat profile that is 1.5” narrower. This new seat design improves knee grip and overall comfort, especially when charging into tight corners. At the bow, the storage compartment opening is expanding for easier access with a dedicated area for Yamaha’s innovative accessory cooler bag. It also features an upgraded, durable design with high strength plastic hinge and damper. And for those riders that need even more storage space, the storage capacity under the seat is larger and comes with a water resistant box for clothing and valuables that need to stay dry.Factory Installed Integrated Speaker OptionFor the first time ever, Yamaha is offering dealers the choice of ordering GP Series WaveRunners with a factory-installed, custom integrated marine audio system. The package includes twin, 4½ inch fully waterproof marine speakers, integrated 2 channel (50 watts per channel) amplifier, easy access control pad and an integrated low-voltage regulator to protect the battery. New Connext Helm Control with Color LCD DisplayThe GP1800R SVHO and GP1800R HO now come with Yamaha’s 4.3” Connext helm control with a multi-color LCD display. A touchpad control that is mounted next to the steering column provides convenient access to the Connext system’s many functions that include a PIN code security system that eliminates the need for an external remote fob, and DRIVE® Control that allows the GP Series owner to set the top speed at different increments along with setting the acceleration curve from normal to slow. RiDE® Throttle Control SystemFeatured on both GPs is Yamaha’s award-winning RiDE throttle control system that makes maneuvering in tight spaces and around the dock stress-free.Squeeze the right handlebar lever to go forward. Squeeze the left lever for reverse. At speed, the left handlebar lever will also slow you down. Release both the right and left levers and the watercraft is in neutral. RiDE is renowned as the most intuitive throttle control system available today. Two Championship-Winning Engines to Choose FromThe GP1800R SVHO is powered by Yamaha’s 1.8L, four-cylinder, supercharged marine engine. This compact, lightweight powerplant outperforms its competition’s heavier engines, thus giving the GP1800R SVHO a distinct power to weight performance advantage. The GP1800R HO is powered by the same 1.8L engine, but comes normally-aspirated. Still, this engine can outperform many of the supercharged models in its class, but with less engine weight, better fuel economy, and slightly less maintenance sans supercharger. Both of these engines deliver class-leading performance and reliability, proven in the harshest of marine environments as only Yamaha engines can provide. New Auto Trim Feature with Cornering Control and Launch ControlNew this year is the industry’s first automatic trim system. This Engine Control Unit (ECU) upgrade is only available on the GP1800R SVHO and GP1800R HO.Auto Trim works independently from the electric trim control on the handlebars. When engaged, Cornering Control automatically shifts the trim into the bow down position when decelerating for tighter cornering and a racy feel. Launch Control is different in that it automatically shifts the trim down to prevent bow rise when accelerating quickly. These functions happen automatically to bring new levels of handling and performance riding to racers and recreational riders alike.Confidence-Inspiring High-Performance Hull DesignUnder the waterline, the GPs share the same high-performance hull renowned world over for its precise, confidence-inspiring handling. New this year is a redesigned intake grate and upgraded jet pump that allows less turbulent water to flow through the jet pump. The result is better acceleration and less cavitation in choppy water conditions. Also new is a redesigned hull liner that moves the fuel tank 80mm towards the stern and 15mm lower in the hull. By repositioning the weight of the fuel tank, the craft’s new center of gravity enhances the GPs’ nimble handling and agility.Like all Yamaha hulls and decks, the GP’s hull and deck is pressed to precise tolerances using Yamaha’s proprietary NanoXcel® 2 material that is nano-engineered to be lighter than traditional fiberglass. It is worth noting that Yamaha hulls and decks are considered Class A surfaces, which is an automotive term for a smooth, high-quality surface. This Class A surface allows Yamaha to offer metallic paint colors that the other brands cannot. For the buyer that wants the most out-of-the-box performance available today, the GP Series is the best choice. For the racer serious about winning, the GP Series is the only choice, and that’s been proven every time the starting gun fires.2021 GP SERIES SPECIFICATIONSEngine Type: Supercharged 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, Super Vortex High Output Yamaha Marine Engine (GP1800R SVHO); 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, 1.8L High Output Yamaha Marine Engine (GP1800R HO)Displacement: 1812CC Impeller: 3-blade, stainless steel Length: 131.9” Beam: 48.8” Height: 47.2” Fuel Capacity: 18.5 gallons Person Capacity: 3 persons Hull Material: NanoXcel 2 Assembled: Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America, Newnan, GeorgiaGP1800R SHVO_1461
